Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about WajdQuran: free, private, and made to help you not only read the Quran, but find it and understand it.

Is WajdQuran free?

Yes. WajdQuran is completely free, with no account, no adverts and no in-app purchases. Knowledge of the Quran should never sit behind a paywall.

Do I need to create an account or log in?

No. There is no login and no sign up. Your progress, saved verses and prayer times are stored on your own device.

How does reciting the Quran by voice work?

Tap the microphone and recite any verse aloud, from memory or from the page. WajdQuran listens, finds exactly where you are in the Quran, plays it back in a beautiful voice, and can explain what it means.

Which languages and translations does it support?

The interface is available in nine languages: English, Arabic, Urdu, Indonesian, Turkish, French, Spanish, German and Russian, with right to left support for Arabic and Urdu. There are 14 verse translations so you can read the meaning in the language you think in.

Can I read the whole Quran and understand each verse?

Yes. Read all 114 surahs with a translation, transliteration, and the meaning of every word. Tap Understand on any verse for a gentle, honest explanation, or Go in depth for a fuller reflection.

Does it help with memorising (hifz)?

Yes. Learn verse by verse or in batches. WajdQuran hides the verse and checks you word by word using active recall, builds a daily streak, and has a hands-free mode so you can memorise without pressing buttons.

Does it show prayer times and the Qibla?

Yes. Today's prayer times with a live countdown, a Qibla compass, and gentle reminders. Everything is calculated on your device and your location is never sent to us.

Is my data private?

Yes. There is no tracking or profiling. Your progress and location stay on your device. Voice recordings are used only to find the verse and are never stored.

Do I need an internet connection?

You can install WajdQuran as an app and it works offline for reading once visited. Reciting by voice, the AI explanations and streaming audio need a connection.

Is it suitable for children and new Muslims?

Yes. It is made for all ages, and is especially helpful for anyone new to the Quran, young or old. Explanations are written to be understood by a child or an elder, and there are gentle picture stories for every surah.
